About the Authors:

Lutz Hartmann is a senior instructor
for Oracle University specializing in Oracle training
for DBAs and developers. Lutz is a master instructor,
developing custom courses for Oracle events. Lutz
has also developed instructor led online trainings (ILOs)
live on the web.
Lutz has published a number of articles on Oracle new
features in Swiss and German tech magazines and speaks
at Oracle User Group meetings from time to time. Lutz is
also the owner of
sysdba database consulting GmbH in Switzerland. |

V.J. Jain is an Oracle Database
and Applications consultant with over 12 years of
experience in database and ERP systems. He specializes
in database performance, development, interfaces and
high-performance solutions. V.J. actively evaluates
Oracle's newest technologies and is a member of the
Oracle Partner Network and Beta program. He has
published articles on SearchOracle, OraFaq, OTN and is
the owner of
www.oracle-developer.com.
V.J. received his B.S. in Information and
Computer Science from the University of California
Irvine and is a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard
who was in military intelligence and held a TS/SCI

Brian Carr works as a Senior
Oracle DBA and is an Oracle Certified Professional and
Oracle ACE. His articles have appeared in SELECT
Journal, OTN, Database Trends and Applications,
JavaWorld, and DevX. He co-wrote a multithreaded Web
crawler and search engine in Perl, as well as an
anonymous web browsing service in C#. Brian also wrote a
server monitoring solution that has been commercially
released. Brian is currently pursuing a

John Garmany |
John Garmany is a
Senior Oracle DBA with Burleson Consulting. A graduate of
West Point, an Airborne Ranger and a retired Lt. Colonel with
20+ years of IT experience. John is an OCP Certified Oracle
DBA with a Master Degree in Information Systems, a Graduate
Certificate in Software Engineering, and a BS degree
(Electrical Engineering) from West Point. A respected Oracle
expert and author, John serves as a writer for
