Several companies offer pre-built arrays, among them are EMC,
Hitachi, Compaq (now HP) and IBM Shark. Let's look at what they have
to offer.
The
EMC Clariion provides a redundant architecture allowing multiple
paths to each disk in the array. Figure 4-5 shows this architecture.
Notice the two storage processors, mirrored caches, CPU and fibre
controllers. This redundancy of components allows multiple paths and
high performance. The Clariion ranges from the CX300 to the CX700
series and up to 58.4 terabytes of storage.
